Welcome! And our Top Five Wardrobe Essentials

Welcome to our flog (fashion blog). We are so glad you could join us. Here, at the incision of our flog, we'd like to create a kind of constitution, or, foundation by which we feel all women (and perhaps men) should start their wardrobe. All of these fashion choices don't have to break your piggy bank, but certainly could, so proceed with caution.

Be frugal, be thrifty, but also be aware that your fashion choices really do define you; at least on a first impression basis. Sure, we don't always have to look fabulous, but, it is on the off chance that you are caught by someone who SHOULD have seen you looking fabulous that we present this flog entry to you.

Our "Because we love fashion top 5 wardrobe essentials list":

1. The Little Black Dress

Now, this one doesn't have to be very LITTLE, per se, but when Coco Chanel first presented the idea, it caught on and stayed on for very good reasons. A black dress - a GOOD black dress - is a timeless wardrobe essential. It is flattering and can go from casual to dressy, depending on how you accessorize. So, get yourself one and you'll find that you never say, "But I have nothing to wear!"

2. A Classic White Button-Up - with a twist?

So every woman/man needs one of these. It is just essential. Period. It can be a life saver when all else fails, or it can be the piece that brings an entire outfit together, which in turn, makes you look put together. Make sure that if you get the classic white button-up that you purchase the one that is fitted to a female figure (at least if you are going for a business look, if not, it doesn't have to be). Remember, there are many variations to this that we here at Because We Love Fashion fully endorse, such as:

The Ruffled White Blouse

Or,

The Detailed, Short-Sleeved, White Blouse

Have fun with this one!
3. The Black Slack/Trouser

If you ever have to go to a job interview or have an office/sophisticated job, or if you want to make a casual outfit look a little more dressy--you need these!
4. The Do-It-All Skirt (casual or otherwise)

What you need is a good sturdy skirt. There may be many out there who feel like skirts or dresses are oppressive, but believe you us, they're not! They can be incredibly comfortable and/or functional/flattering. In fact, you don't need a closet full of skirts, just get a utility skirt; the kind that you know how to take from casual to dressy. Although, a sophisticated black pencil skirt almost made this top five, so, keep that in mind.

6. The Perfect Jeans (which don't have to be anywhere NEAR $200!)

Our Mission and Yours: To find the perfect pair of jeans. Maybe, if you're lucky, there's more than just one pair or type, but definitely, this should be one of your missions in life. Jean shopping can be the most agonizing experience for many people (us included), so it is with this in mind that we suggest doing your homework and finding the best jeans for your body type and then actively pursuing the finding of said jeans. Hopefully, you'll discover that you can do it without spending over $200! It's denim people! We here are Because We Love Fashion believe that spending more than $100 for denim (and even that!) is just a little excessive when you contemplate the origins of denim clothing. Labor clothes people, labor clothes.

BONUS! The Casual or Fun Day Dress

This one is a little more nebulous, but definitely essential. The day dress is something that can either be just for fun, or something for a nice garden party (if you're ever invited to those, and if so, we're jealous!) But also, day dresses can be very casual house dresses that are an alternative to sweats. Just think about it....you don't have to go crazy.

  1. Please share where you found these fabulosities!!!
I have been SEARCHING for a white shirt and that one is PERFECT!!! It's funny how those things are high on my "things to find for myself" list... but that whole jeans thing is MUCH harder than it seems.
